Traffic Fatalities in Tennessee Climb in 2010

For the first-time in four years, traffic fatalities rose in Tennessee as the 2010 mark exceeded the number of traffic-related fatalities in Tennessee in 2009. According to reports, fatalities rose more in rural areas than urban ones, with the increase being attributed to a lower seat-belt usage rate in the rural areas. Law enforcement officials also cited an increase in multiple-fatality wrecks as being a cause for the rise in traffic fatalities this year.

Although vehicles supposedly get safer every year, there is plenty of potential on the roadways for disaster to strike Tennessee motorists. This is especially true with the rise of activities like texting-while driving and driving under the influence, which increase exponentially the likelihood that a fatal car wreck may occur. While all fatal traffic accidents are not the result of negligent driving, a good number of fatal accidents are indeed caused by a driver's negligence.

When you or a loved one are injured in a car wreck, it can be difficult and overwhelming to try to recover for your losses. Insurance companies, hospitals, and other parties involved in the accident can try to make your life miserable and often seem to be concerned with squeezing every dime out of you that they can get. Contact an aggressive Tennessee personal injury attorney who can assist you throughout your case, protect your rights, and stand up to those who try to take advantage of you.
